The 2019-2020 school year is in full swing, and the media books are flying off the shelves into the hands of our eager readers! To reward you for what you are already doing, the Washington, DC area Six Flags Theme Park is ready to celebrate you!
The Six Flags Read to Succeed is an exciting program that encourages students in grades K through 6 to read for fun. Students who complete six hours of recreational reading earn a free ticket to Six Flags! The program is available to our students and at no cost to participate, and it's a great way to motivate and reward our kids for reading. Begin looking for information about this special program by December 1, 2019.
**New for this year: e-Reading Logs!**
Be on the look out for the information sheet that includes a code to register and log your Woodlin ES K-5 child's reading minutes. Online reading logs should be completed by parents no later than April 1, 2010.
Why did Six Flags implement e-Reading Logs?
eReading Logs have been a popularly requested feature for several years, and we thank you for your patience while we implemented it! We think this new iteration of the program will make Read to Succeed easier for you to implement while offering a number of ancillary benefits.
Do parents need a computer to log their reading?
No. Hours can be logged using a computer OR smartphone.
However, I understand that some parents may not have easy access to the internet. Parents will still be able to log the hours your child has read and turn in the sheet to Woodlin ES (like you have done in the past). For students submitting the paper reading log for Ms. Cramer to complete the submission, please submit the completed log to the Woodlin ES media center no later than May 4,2020 (updated April 20, 2020).
